School's In Session: Teacher's Guide to Self Care

With "back to school" season upon us, I've been scrambling trying to get my kids back to school shopping done when it hit me. I have many clients who are teachers or faculty members and I know they have been stressed and getting a head start. The first day of school for our kids, isn't the first day of school for them.

Prepping for back to school season is just as stressful, if not more, for the beautiful souls who educate our children. Everyone deserves to blow off some steam and relax even if it's 30 minutes of alone time to escape deadlines and the endless tasks ahead.

Here are four ways you can cater to yourself during this back to school season:

  1. Schedule some well earned "me" time. You spend so much time with our kids during the day, remember to hit pause and take a break. Set aside 30 minutes to soak in the tub or catch up on light reading, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax. You deserve it!

  2. Prioritize rest. A good nights sleep is just as important for your body. You can't educate kids if you're exhausted, my love.

  3. Create a playlist. Make a playlist of your favorite songs. I know this may sound all too simple but you can really use music to pump you up or help you relax after a long day.

  4. Treat yourself! You give so much to our kids. Don't forget to give a little something to yourself. It can be as small as a nice cup of tea from your favorite shop once a week or even getting a manicure or your lashes done to help you feel your best. You deserve to look in the mirror and feel your most confident self.

There are endless ways you can add a little self-care in your life. The most important thing is that you are actively doing something for YOU ! And if you should find yourself wanting to shave off a little time out of your daily routine in the process, I just might be able to help you in the process. Need help finding someone local or a recommendation - not to worry, you can always contact me and I can always point you in the right direction!
